Our Story: The Journey of a Family Cattle Farm

Long Family Farm

We’re Britt and Jake, the family behind Faithful Farming and Long Family Farm, a third-generation cattle farm dedicated to raising beef cattle and nurturing two little boys who are growing up as the fourth generation.

For us, cattle farming has always been about more than just livestock and land; it’s about faith and family, hard work, and leaving a meaningful farm legacy for future generations.

That word, legacy, holds a special significance for our family.

Jake overcame stage 4 testicular cancer at just 17 years old, given a second chance to build a life that once seemed uncertain. Today, that life includes raising cattle on the same family farm that shaped his childhood, with two boys eagerly following in his footsteps.

Farming, however, isn’t our only endeavor. We both maintain full-time careers off the farm and then return home to care for our cattle that need feeding, fences that require fixing, hay that needs making, and daily chores that don’t consider how our day has been.

Our Christian faith is the core of everything we do. We view this land, our livestock, our family, and the opportunities we’ve been granted as blessings that we strive to steward wisely. Our aim is to leave a lasting farm legacy for the generations that follow.

That’s why we started Faithful Farming: to open the gate and share a way of life that many people will never experience firsthand. It encompasses the work, the cattle, the equipment, the invaluable lessons, the tough days, and two little boys who are learning by shadowing Dad in every endeavor.

We’re not certain what the future of this farm will look like when they are grown, but we know what we hope to instill in them: a strong faith, a solid work ethic, a love for agriculture, and a family farm they can be proud to call home.

That’s the legacy we’re working towards.
